The Insight Initiative for Community and Social Development has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting transparency, civic participation, and grassroots governance through active youth engagement at the 2026 “Youth in Governance Conference” organised by the Osun State chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria.
At the well-attended conference, the Project Manager of the organisation, Kolade Onaolapo, alongside the Communications Officer, Sodiq Yusuf, delivered an impactful session focused on strengthening civic consciousness among young people.
The conference brought together youths from all 30 Local Government Areas of Osun State, alongside traditional rulers and top government functionaries, creating a vibrant platform for intergenerational dialogue and inclusive governance discussions.

During the session, the team spotlighted Amoye, an AI-powered chatbot, and the broader OsunOpenLG Project, outlining practical pathways to deepen transparency, improve access to governance information, and encourage active civic participation at the grassroots level.
Participants were engaged on how technology-driven solutions like Amoye can simplify access to public information, promote accountability, and empower citizens—particularly young people—to take informed roles in governance processes.
Organised by the National Youth Council of Nigeria, the conference forms part of ongoing efforts to enlighten and empower youths on leadership, civic responsibility, and their critical role in shaping democratic institutions.
The engagement further reinforces a shared commitment between stakeholders to nurture a new generation of ethical leaders equipped with the knowledge, tools, and values required to drive sustainable development and institutional integrity across Osun State.
