The Insight Initiative for Community and Social Development calls for applications from young persons from the 30 local government areas to be Local Government Advocates for the Osun Open Local Government Project.
Roles of LGA Advocates
Advocates are to serve as focal persons in their respective local government areas. They are to be available for two months virtual workshops and will proceed to engage their local government authority, community leaders, religious groups, market women, youth and students groups, traditional rulers, among others on the role of local government and the need to engage the council leadership for accountability and transparency.
Application Requirement
- Applicant must be a youth in the age bracket of 18 to 35 years.
- Applicant may be undergraduate or graduate.
- Must be a resident of the local government he or she is applying for and be conversant with the council.
- Must be fluent in English and Yoruba languages
- Must have been involved in the community service, volunteer for any organization or participated in community development.
- Indigenous student association leaders and members of non-governmental organizations are encouraged to apply.
- Must have a browsing enabled phone or personal computer.
- Must be ready to attend virtual training session and physical event in Osogbo.
