The OsunOpenLG campaign recently took its advocacy efforts to the grassroots in Irewole Local Government, Osun State. Advocates engaged artisans in Ikire’s Onibembe Zone 2, emphasizing the importance of local government accountability and citizen participation.
Over 30 community members attended the meeting, discussing local government effectiveness and federal allocations. Many participants were surprised to learn about the funding received by their local governments, which sparked interest in demanding greater transparency.
The advocates received an encouraging response from the community, with many residents pledging to hold their local leaders accountable and actively ensure they deliver on their mandates.
