As part of its efforts to reach out to all stakeholders, the Insight Initiative for Community and Social Development on Thursday visited the Osun State Resident Anti-Corruption Commissioner of the Independent Anti-Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, Barr. Hassan Mohammed Hafiz.
The purpose of the visit is to familiarise with the ICPC and to also extend the invitation to OsunOpenLG Stakeholders Engagement slated for August 26, 2024, in Osogbo.
Leading the discussion at the meeting, the Team Lead of OsunOpenLG and Executive Director of Insight Initiative, Mr Jare Tiamiyu explained some of the projects the organization has executed and laid emphasis on the importance of the OsunOpenLG project.
Tiamiyu identified corruption as the biggest menace stunting the development at the grassroots, expressing readiness to synergise with the ICPC to get rid of all corrupt practices in the local government system.
While adding his voice, the Communications Officer, Sodiq Yusuf, took time to inform the agency head on the details and benefits of the OsunOpenLG for the masses and also for the system.
In his reaction, Barr. Hafiz appreciated the team members for their efforts.
Expressing his commitment to physically attend the stakeholders’ meeting, Mohammed stated that the ICPC is ready to chart courses that seek transparency and accountability in all facets of governance in Nigeria.
Pledging that the project is apolitical, they urged all stakeholders in Osun State to join hands together to make the local governments in the state achieve more transparency and accountability to make way for good governance.
Barr. Hafiz promised to attend the OsunOpenLG Stakeholders Engagement.
